Imbolc or Imbolg was not traditionally a sabbat, but rather a day in which to honor the Goddess or Earth who was slowly turning the world back to spring. Imbolc is considered the halfway point between winter and spring, so many choose to celebrate Imbolc as a welcoming to the returning sun.
